The Golden Gate Bridge is in San Francisco, U.S. It was designed by engineer Joseph Strauss. The main span 4200 feet (1280m) long , is suspended from two cables hung from towers 746 feet (227m) high, at midpoint the roadway is 265 feet (81m) above mean high water. The Golden Gate Bridge is at its most enchanting in the morning when the bridge is often covered in mist. But the bridge is also alluring at night when the lighting makes it seem as if the spires of the towers in the darkness .
