La Scala in one of the world’s greatest opera houses. Its located in Milan, Italy. The opera house opened in 1778. It was designed by Giuseppe Piermarini. The opera house opened with production of Antonio Salieri’s Europa Riconosciuta. The building was remodelled in 1867, restored in 1946 after having been bombed in World War II, and renovated in 2002-2004. La Scala has been the scene of many famous opera permieres, among them are Bellini’s Norma, Verdi’s Otello and Falstsff, and Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Turandot.
