Q. This is a choosy, but only a little.
One morning Ramesh bought a paan (beetle-leaf) from a paanwala and gave him a fifty paise coin. Since the paan was worth 25 paise, Ramesh had to take back 25 paise. The paanwala said to him, “Babuji, I do not have 25 paise. But, if you give me a one rupee note, I shall return 75 paise.”
How could that be? Can you guess?
A. The paanwala must be having 3 paise coins. And he could pay thus: 25 coins of 3 paise each or 3 coins of 20 paise each and 5 coins of 3 paise each.
