When Laxmana's army returned from Sage Valmiki's ashram after being defeated by Luv and Kush, Rama was amazed. He had never imagined that Laxmana would be defeated at the hands of such young lads. He quickly summoned Bharata and asked him to go and bring the two boys to Ayodhya immediately. He also advised Bharata to take Hanuman and the army of monkeys along with him for support.
When Luv and Kush saw Bharata along with his army, they were delighted to see so many monkeys. Soon, the battle began and Luv and Kush started shooting arrows at the monkey brigade. As the battle proceeded, even Bharata was forced to fall on the ground and surrender. Meanwhile, Hanuman, who was watching everything from a distance, realised that these young boys were not ordinary lads and recognised them as the brave sons of Rama and Sita. |
