One day Sage Bhrigu went to heaven and found Vishnu sleeping. He got angry and kicked his chest. Vishnu woke up and welcomed him. He said "I am sorry, did you hurt your foot?" Bright was pleased that Vishnu did not lose his temper. He blessed him and left. But Vishnu's wife, Parvati, was angry to know that the chest in which she resided was dishonoured. She immediately left Vishnu and went to earth. Vishnu was sad and followed by being born as Venkatesha.

One day, King Aksharaja was performing a ritual to be blessed with children, as part of which he ploughed the earth. Suddenly a lotus came out bearing a baby girl in its petals. The king named the girl Padmavati and brought her up as his own daughter. This was actually, Parvati, and when she grew up she was married to Venkatesha.
