Duryodhana had come to the forest where the Pandavas were
spending their years in exile. There, Chitrasena, the king of the
Gandharvas imprisoned him. On hearing this, Yudhisthira said to Arjuna,
"We can settle scores with Duryodhana later. An outsider has captured
our clan, so go and rescue Duryodhana." Arjuna went and defeated
Chitrasena's soldiers. Chitrasena was forced to descend from heaven. He
was Arjuna's friend. He told Arjuna, "Indra had ordered me to
to punish Duryodhana and his friends for making fun of you." Arjuna
took Chitrasena to Yudhisthra who said, "We thank you for your concern for
us. But please release Duryodhana now." Chitrasena agreed and
released Duryodhana. Duryodhana felt very humiliated because his most
hated enemies, the Pandavas, saved his life. |
